This website was built by 'Friends of Bwindi' (previously 'Friends of Bwindi Orphanage'), a UK-based charitable organisation, to support
the work of 'Bwindi Orphans Development Center' (BODEC). Unfortunately our organisation is no longer able to support BODEC and therefore
the website has been removed.
We will continue to support local groups and individuals.

Sponsoring an Orphan is a simple and rewarding way to support the orphanage.
Sponsoring a student costs, per year
£90 or $150 at primary level-
Most children stay at primary level until they are 15 years old.
£240.0 or $400 at secondary level- The final 6 years of their education.
£360.00 ($600) per year for a student at college (4 year course)
£480.00 ($800) for a semester (Courses run for 6 semesters, over 3 years.)
The above fees cover Education costs, supplies, and some essentials such as clothes, soap and food.
This relatively small amount will literally change a child's life.
Sponsored children are encouraged to write to their sponsor families and staff at the orphanage send reports and newletters to sponsors. Sponsors can also send letters directly to their sponsor child.
It is also possible to sponsor other children and staff salaries

Sponsoring a salary will mean staff are financially rewarded and recognised for the high standard of work that they are doing, bring more money into the local economy and support other aspects of village life.
